Patient Fees & Charges

PAYMENT FOR YOUR PROCEDURE

Your hospital accommodation fees are separate to the charges from your doctor for your procedure.

Payment for your hospital fees are to be made no later than 48 hours prior to your admission.

Payments can be made by credit card, EFTPOS or direct bank transfer.

INFORMED FINANCIAL CONSENT

Prior to admission you will be provided with an Informed Financial Consent.

This document will detail your estimated out-of-pocket expenses.

Whilst every effort will be made to make an accurate estimate, additional costs may be incurred.  This may be due to decisions made by your doctor about your treatment, procedures or length of surgical time.

Any balance outstanding will be billed to you for payment.

PRIVATELY INSURED PATIENTS

Your Informed Financial Consent will provide you with an estimate of your health fund rebate and any out-of-pocket expenses not covered by your health fund.

If you have any questions concerning the estimated refund, we suggest you contact your private health insurer prior to admission.

UNINSURED PATIENTS

Your Informed Financial Consent will detail all estimated costs associated with your admission.

PROSTHESIS COSTS

Prostheses (implanted medical devices) are devices are implanted during surgery.

The Commonwealth Government provides a schedule of how prostheses are reimbursed. This means you may have an out-of-pocket fee if your doctor chooses a prosthesis that attracts a gap payment, or if you are uninsured.

Please discuss this with your doctor or health fund (privately insured patients), prior to your admission.
